People on PIP, DLA, ADP and Attendance Allowance could be due extra £326 a month
Millions of people with disabilities could be eligible for a top-up to monthly benefits.
More than six million people across the UK claim Personal Independence Payment (PIP), Disability Living Allowance (DLA), Attendance Allowance or Adult Disability Payment (ADP), but many may be able to claim more.
Citizens Advice has revealed that around 450,000 claimants could be missing out on the additional payments as they have not applied for the correct rate of support.
How much could I get?
PIP claimants could get an extra £128 a month if they are eligible for the enhanced rate. This could increase their income by £1,536 a year.
DLA claimants receiving the lower rate could get an extra £58.44 a month if they are eligible for the middle rate, or £116.88 if they are eligible for the highest rate. This could increase their income by £701.28 or £1,402.56 a year.
ADP claimants could get an extra £92.86 a month if they are eligible for the enhanced adult rate. This could increase annual income by £1,114.32.
Attendance Allowance claimants could get an extra £30.60 a month if they are eligible for the higher rate. This could increase annual income by £367.20.
How do I apply?
You can apply for the correct rate of support by contacting the relevant benefits office. You will need to provide evidence of your disability and how it affects your everyday life.
