Matos to support Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez in 2023

Portuguese driver to gain valuable Formula One experience

Oracle Red Bull Racing is pleased to announce the signing of Nuno Matos as its Test and Reserve Driver for the 2023 Formula One season. Matos, 22, is a highly-rated young driver who has impressed in Formula 2, winning two races in 2022.

Matos will support Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez in 2023, assisting with development work on the team's car and gaining valuable experience in Formula One. He will also be on standby to race if either Verstappen or Perez are unable to compete.

Matos is excited about the opportunity to join Oracle Red Bull Racing and learn from one of the most successful teams in Formula One. "It is a dream come true to join Oracle Red Bull Racing," said Matos. "This is a team that has always been at the forefront of Formula One, and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to learn from the best."

Matos' signing is a further sign of Oracle Red Bull Racing's commitment to developing young drivers. The team has a long history of bringing through young talent, including Sebastian Vettel, Max Verstappen, and Sergio Perez.

Matos will make his first appearance for Oracle Red Bull Racing at pre-season testing in Bahrain on February 23-25.
