Emergency services and professional divers search for a missing person in the Thülsfelder Stausee

Thülsfelder Stausee. 05.12.2023 – A large-scale search operation involving several emergency services and professional divers has been underway at the Thülsfelder Stausee since Sunday evening, December 4, 2023. The search is for a missing person who is believed to have entered the lake on Saturday, December 3, 2023.

According to police, a passerby reported to the police control center on Sunday evening that a man had apparently gone into the lake and disappeared. An extensive search operation was launched immediately, involving the fire brigade, water rescue service, German Life Saving Society (DLRG), and professional divers. The search continued throughout the night and into Monday morning.

The search is being hampered by poor visibility in the water, as well as strong currents and cold temperatures. So far, the search teams have not been able to locate the missing person.

The police are asking for the public's help in the search. Anyone who may have seen the missing person, or who has any information about his whereabouts, is urged to contact the police immediately. The missing person is described as being male, approximately 50 years old, with a medium build and short, dark hair. He was last seen wearing a dark jacket and jeans.
