Manager: We're ready for a tough game against Kilmarnock
Assistant head coach Shaun Maloney admits that Hibernian know their Betfred Cup semi-final match will be far from easy against Kilmarnock.
"We're ready and know it will be a tough game against Kilmarnock." Maloney told the media. "But we're confident in our ability and we're going there to win."
Hibs head to Hampden Park on Saturday afternoon looking to reach the Betfred Cup Final for the first time since 2016.
The Easter Road club reached the semi-finals after an impressive 3-1 victory over Premiership champions Rangers at Ibrox. However Maloney, who is standing in for manager Jack Ross, who is self-isolating after testing positive for Covid-19, knows that his team will need to be at their best to overcome a Kilmarnock side who have already beaten Celtic this season.
"We know that Kilmarnock are a good side," Maloney continued. "They're well-organised and they have some dangerous players. But we're confident in our own ability and we're going there to win."
Maloney also revealed that Hibs will be without the suspended Chris Cadden for the match, but he is hopeful that Martin Boyle will be fit to play.
"Chris Cadden is suspended for the game, but we're hopeful that Martin Boyle will be fit to play," Maloney said. "He's been training this week and he's looking good."
The match kicks off at 3pm on Saturday afternoon and will be shown live on Premier Sports.
