A major SEK operation took place in Aalen's Hofherrnviertel residential area on Thursday evening. According to police, SEK forces stormed an apartment in the Stuttgarter Straße and arrested several people.

According to initial findings, shots were fired during the operation. However, there were no injuries. The SEK forces were supported by the Aalen police and the special operations command from Göppingen.

The police are currently not providing any information on the background to the operation or the number of people arrested. However, it is said that the operation was carried out as part of an ongoing investigation.

The Stuttgarter Straße was closed for several hours during the operation. The police are asking for witnesses to come forward.
