German Beach Volleyball Duo Lose to Brazilians Talita/Rebecca

The German beach volleyball duo Karla and Julia Klinger have been eliminated in the quarter-finals of the World Tour tournament in Rio de Janeiro. The European champions lost to the Brazilian favorites Talita/Rebecca 2:0 (18:21, 19:21) on Friday (local time).

After losing the first set, the Klinger sisters led 14:10 in the second set, but then their opponents turned up the heat and won the set and match.

Disappointing Result for German Favorites

For the Klinger sisters, the quarter-final defeat is a setback. As one of the top teams in the world, they had hoped for more in Rio. However, they can still qualify for the World Tour Finals in Rome in September.

Talita/Rebecca, on the other hand, continue their winning streak. The Brazilians have won all three tournaments they have played in so far this season.
