Jamie Vardy and Ricardo Pereira Injury Update Given as Leicester City Pair Miss Man United Clash
Vardy Suffered a Tight Hamstring in Training
Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers has provided an injury update on Jamie Vardy and Ricardo Pereira ahead of their Premier League clash with Manchester United on Saturday. Vardy, who has been in excellent form for the Foxes this season, suffered a tight hamstring in training and will miss the game at Old Trafford.
Pereira Still Recovering from Achilles Injury
Pereira, meanwhile, is still recovering from an Achilles injury and is not expected to return to action until after the international break. The Portuguese full-back has not played since August and has been a big miss for Leicester City.
Rodgers Disappointed to be Without Vardy and Pereira
Rodgers expressed his disappointment at being without Vardy and Pereira for the trip to Manchester United.
“It’s a blow to lose Jamie and Ricardo for this game,” Rodgers said. “They are both key players for us and we will miss their quality and experience.
“However, we have a strong squad and I am confident that the players who come in will do a good job.”
Leicester City’s Injury List
Vardy and Pereira join a number of other Leicester City players on the sidelines, including Jonny Evans (foot), James Justin (knee), and Ryan Bertrand (knee).
