Freenet AG falls again in price due to cartel accusations
The Share of Freenet AG fell by 4.1 percent on Monday to EUR 13.49.
The reason for the sell-off is said to be an accusation of a cartel by the Bundeskartellamt.
The authority is investigating whether Freenet AG and other companies have agreed on prices for DSL connections.
Freenet AG has denied the allegations.
The Bundeskartellamt has not yet commented on the allegations.
If the allegations were to be confirmed, Freenet AG could face a fine of up to 10 percent of its annual turnover.
In 2021, Freenet AG generated sales of around 6.2 billion euros.
A fine of up to 620 million euros would therefore be possible.
The share price of Freenet AG has already fallen by more than 25 percent since the beginning of the year.
In the past few days alone, the share has lost around 10 percent.
Investors are therefore very concerned about the allegations against Freenet AG.
