Lauterbach (ots) - 46-year-old man dies after serious motorcycle accident in Lauterbach
A serious traffic accident on Saturday afternoon (September 10, 2022) in Lauterbach claimed the life of a motorcyclist. For reasons yet to be determined, the 46-year-old man from Lauterbach lost control of his Kymco motorcycle shortly before 1:30 p.m. on the federal highway B 254, about 500 meters before the Abtsroda exit in the direction of Bad Hersfeld, and crashed into a crash barrier. The man was thrown from his motorcycle and was seriously injured.
Despite immediate resuscitation measures by first responders and emergency medical services on site, the 46-year-old died of his injuries in a nearby hospital. Several other people were involved in the accident but were not injured.
Police are looking for a witness who helped at the scene of the accident
After the accident, the police closed the federal highway B 254 for about four hours. The traffic police in Bad Hersfeld are investigating the cause of the accident.
The officers are also looking for witnesses who were on site. According to the current status, an unknown motorcyclist stopped immediately after the accident and helped with resuscitation measures. They then continued on their way in the direction of Bad Hersfeld. According to the description, the motorcyclist was riding a black Ducati.
