Corry: Derry 'under pressure' after 'folding' in league
Lacklustre performance under new boss leaves Candystripes staring relegation in the face
Candystripes in freefall after shipping seven goals in three defeats
Derry City are under serious pressure after a dismal start to the season under new boss RuaidhrĂ Higgins, with the Candystripes sitting rock-bottom of the Premier Division after just three games.
Higgins took over from Declan Devine in the off-season, but the Candystripes have yet to win a game under their new manager, and have shipped seven goals in three defeats.
The Candystripes' latest defeat came on Monday night, when they were beaten 3-1 by Finn Harps at the Brandywell.
Derry took the lead through Will Patching, but Harps hit back with goals from Ryan Connolly, Ethan Boyle and Mark Coyle.
The result leaves Derry bottom of the table with just one point from three games, and they are now four points adrift of safety.
Higgins admitted after the game that his team are "under pressure", but he vowed to turn things around.
"We're under pressure, there's no doubt about it," Higgins said.
"But we have to stay positive and we have to keep working hard.
"We have a lot of quality in this squad, and I believe that we can turn things around."
Derry's next game is away to Sligo Rovers on Friday night.
