Mickey Moran insists that he won't be experimenting too much with his Tyrone team in this season's Allianz Football League.

With the NFL looming large, Moran has little time to test out new players or formations.

Speaking to the media last night at Tyrone GAA's pre-season media day held at the new Garvaghey Centre in Coalisland, Moran said: "The first couple of league games are Ulster championship matches. We need to get serious about business straightaway. We are going to be missing a number of key players to injury. When you consider that, this is not the league to be experimenting in."

The Tyrone boss did admit, however, that he will be experimenting with some tactical tweaks for the league.

"We worked on a couple of things in training over the past few weeks. We will look at bringing in one or two more. The players need to become familiar with them before the championship comes around. It is delicate because the players are not going at full tilt in the league. You are trying to prepare for the championship without risking injury.

The first of Tyrone's five Division 1 North League fixtures against Monaghan is fixed for February 25th at Healy Park. They have been drawn in the same group as Monaghan, Donegal and Armagh.
